Welcome to Long Island Voice Lessons!

This is a studio for singers of all ages and levels.  Everyone can learn to sing and create music.  My primary goal as a teacher is to help students connect with their own unique voice while giving them the tools to sing efficiently with vocal health at the forefront.

Lessons include vocal exercises that will help strengthen the voice and increase vocal range.  Students will become more aware of body tensions that have an adverse affect on the voice and apply strategies to allow more freedom in the body.  Sing the songs you choose, and learn to apply the new techniques to those songs.

Vocal Styles:

Musical Theatre -belt, Musical Theatre -legit

“Working with Amanda Chmela helped me to discover not only my sound as a vocalist, but what made my voice special and specific. She pushed me to try new material that quickly defined my taste as a musician.  Her vast knowledge of vocal anatomy & teaching style kept each lesson interesting and educational. I am so grateful for my time as her student and know I will continue to work with her throughout my career." -Kara Jönsson, BFA Musical Theatre, Rider University 2018

"Our daughter Vanessa has taken lessons with Amanda weekly since 2012.  Amanda has done a fantastic job in Vanessa's voice development, providing her with songs and practice material to allow development at an appropriate pace, all while achieving maximum potential.  Vanessa's received a ton of great advice on her career in musical theater and acting, and life, and we consider Amanda a mentor far beyond voice instruction.  We are very grateful for Amanda's passion, the extra effort she always makes to deliver excellence, her honest opinion and clear communication, and the compassion and care she has for her students. " -Vincent Danese

"Amanda has been a huge help to me vocally and performance wise.  I look forward to going to lessons each week to prepare for shows and learn what it takes to make a song sound great.  Over the years my voice has improved drastically and I now feel much more confident singing in front of any sized audience.  It has been a great experience and I would recommend Amanda to anyone who loves to sing and wants to improve their voice". – Shawn Hawkins

"After I took Amanda's singing for musical theater class in college, I realized that she really knew how to convey singing healthily while maintaining that theatricality and contemporary sound, which can often be lost in voice lessons. I've got to say, since studying with Amanda, I've never lost my voice - and I've performed a solo musical multiple times. She's super helpful in helping build repertoire, and doesn't have a one size fits all approach." – Mallory Schlossberg

"I had the pleasure of studying under Amanda Chmela for two years, and it was the best learning experience of my life.  She is extremely patient with her students, is able to relate very well and make her students feel comfortable and at ease with her.  Since studying with her, I doubled my effective vocal range, added a much stronger chest voice to my repertoire, significantly increased my ability to project my voice and improved my intonation.  All of this while being able to work with any material I brought to lessons, no matter how eclectic my tastes.  Voice lessons opened doors for me to express myself better musically, sing confidently, and enriched my life." – Adrien Ma
